I was inspired by Santiago Calatrava's Chicago Spire. An architect, and artist that I admire, his buildings have the fluidity of the human form, and nature. Unfortunately the Chicago Spire was abandoned in 2008. To Calatrava, the unusual concept of repetition, and human movement are of constant interest. And this design is a clear example of his inspiration in the human from with mobility being a recurring theme in his works.
