18K White Gold, White Gold Plated Rhodium
The Chinese astrology was developed during the Zhou Dynasty, and made popular during the Han Dynasty. The traditional astronomical calendar holds a close relationship with the Chinese philosophy of heaven, earth, and water, including principles of Yin and Yang. Being brought up in a western Chinese family, I celebrated both my Chinese and western birthdays. During these occasions, it was noodles during my Chinese birthday, while we had cake, clowns and balloons for my western birthday. Combining both my western and traditional upbringing, I have interwoven my traditional astronomical animals with my western balloon animals I grew up with during my birthday parties.
