January 18th, 2020 (Hong Kong)- As the Pig year comes to a standstill, we welcome the Rat year, so does the new Chinese Zodiac collection from Lauren X Khoo. Many myths and legends surround the Chinese Zodiac, the most widespread legend was that the Jade Emperor (The Emperor in Heaven in Chinese folklore) ordered that animals would be designated as calendar signs and the twelve that arrived first would be selected. The great race hence begun that way.
Khoo unveils a fresh perspective on the Chinese animals with fun-filled new silhouettes. Adding a completely different outlook on what the traditional Chinese animals resemble, Khoo was inspired by days when paperclips were simpler, and a time when punk was in fashion. Played with, twisted by Khoo who would deconstruct them, only to wear them as earrings, this Paper Clip Animals series bring the bored child out in all of us.
Each piece is handmade in Hong Kong; they are unexpected; non-traditional, with a combination of diamonds, and 18K White, Yellow, and Rose Gold. The fun new collection includes chokers, pendants, and earrings.
